About Project
Located in a gated community of Mohali, this family abode is an inward-looking house designed for a retired army official. The house amalgamates the architect’s design sensibilities with the client’s opulent taste reflected in the family’s large collection of artifacts and décor which had to be accommodated.
Cocoon House, as the name suggests pertains to the idea of a cocoon which weaves itself into being. The house has a central courtyard cut across three levels which brings in natural light throughout the day. The planning orchestrates itself in layers choreographing a seamless movement along the open floor plan. There is an interesting play of levels established through the courtyard and the bridge.
