Rooted in the quiet landscapes of Malappuram, this home is a contemporary interpretation of Keralam’s timeless Nalukettu architecture. Designed around a central courtyard, the residence embraces climate-responsive planning through passive ventilation, deep verandahs, sloping tiled roofs, and naturally breathable spaces. Built using locally sourced laterite stone, handcrafted timber elements, and reclaimed roof tiles from ancestral homes, the home celebrates material authenticity and traditional craftsmanship. The home is carefully positioned amid coconut trees, gardens, a traditional gazebo, and an expansive stepped pond that serves as a focal point of the experience. Rather than nostalgically replicating tradition, the design revives its principles for modern living. The result is a home that feels timeless yet relevant, where architecture, climate, culture, and craftsmanship come together to create a deeply immersive living environment.
