About Project
Sowparnika is a 3,500 sq. ft home in Bengaluru, designed on a compact urban plot with a focus on privacy and natural light. Adopting an inward-looking approach, the house unfolds through vertically layered spaces, where circulation becomes central to the experience. A curving staircase acts as the spatial spine, minimising footprint while connecting levels, drawing light in from above, and creating continuous visual links between floors. The home is defined by its material language—terracotta filler slabs, clay blocks, Kota stone, and wood—used honestly and expressively. Beyond their tactile warmth, these materials respond to climate, improving thermal comfort and acoustics while grounding the interiors in a natural palette. Together, material, light, and circulation shape a home that is calm, connected, and deeply rooted in everyday living.
