Set in the coastal hamlet of Dumas, this multi-generational home offers a peaceful alternative to the density of Surat. The house rises from a stone plinth and surrounds a central courtyard that draws in natural light and sea air. A tall stepped void inspired by ancient Indian stepwells forms the core of the circulation. Private suites for each generation are arranged across the upper floors, allowing independence while staying visually connected through linear staircases and balconies that overlook the courtyard. Warm timber, polished concrete, recycled wood, and textured stone create an inviting mix of materials. Bedrooms and bathrooms combine comfort with craftsmanship, shaped by natural tones and filtered light. Designed for family and permanent staff, the five-level walk-up transforms daily movement into an uplifting experience. Communal areas gather around the courtyard, and the terrace becomes the most cherished space, oriented toward the vast Arabian Sea and its uninterrupted coastal views.
