About Project
Zikr is a residence that embodies a philosophy of design rooted in nature and heritage. At its heart lies the central courtyard, which serves as the home's lung, drawing in natural light and fostering cross-ventilation crucial for the local climate. The home's character is built upon a foundation of reclaimed materials, with old roof tiles giving the facade a sense of belonging and ancestral furniture, including pieces with pure cane weaving, infusing the interiors with a rich sense of history. The design's thoughtful planning is evident in every space, from the seamless indoor-outdoor transitions to the jaali wall in the prayer room that offers a delicate balance of privacy and connection. Zikr is a powerful statement about the harmony between traditional wisdom and modern living, a home that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
