Humanscape

Founded by Ar. Gaurav Chordia, ‘Humanscape’ is an architecture and design practice working across architecture, interiors, spatial research and ground studies. Based in Pune, with a studio in Bhusawal, the practice works across varied scales and typologies—from individual homes and housing to schools, experience centres and public spaces. The practice begins with observing and understanding people, place, climate and everyday life. Research, ground studies and conversations with communities inform its approach, allowing design to grow from its context rather than being imposed upon it. The studio studies local materials, building practices, crafts and artisans, often working closely with makers to understand their processes and possibilities. Humanscape also conducts workshops and collaborative studies exploring architecture, photography, housing and craft as tools for observation and learning. Through these explorations, the practice seeks to create spaces that are simple, thoughtful, enduring and rooted in their place and people.
