About Project
Set within the leafy precincts of Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Abhyudaya reimagines South Indian architectural principles through a contemporary domestic lens, conceived as a home of sunrise and spiritual prosperity shaped by ritual, climate, and quietude. Rooted in vernacular wisdom, the design is anchored by a sacred pooja at its core, around which the house is carefully orchestrated. A central corridor establishes a ceremonial axis, unfolding into a double-height courtyard that mediates light, movement, and togetherness, while layered thresholds balance openness with retreat. A corten steel jaali façade, abstracted from surrounding trees, filters light and ensures privacy without severing connection to the landscape. Finely detailed wooden ceilings, responsibly sourced timber, grey marble floors, local black stone, brass accents, and breathable lime plaster shape interiors that feel sanctum-like yet contemporary. Skylights, light wells, cross ventilation, and water elements temper the climate, reducing reliance on artificial systems while animating the home with shifting shadows. Completed through close collaboration and careful craft, Abhyudaya frames sustainability as cultural continuity, architecture where devotion, dwelling, and daily life coexist in serene balance.
