About Project
Aksharam — The Rustleaf sits within a seven-acre agricultural landscape in Anumanpalli, Erode, designed to blend quietly into its surroundings. From a 30,000 sq.ft. carved parcel, only 8,100 sq.ft. is built, reflecting a philosophy of restraint where the land remains the protagonist. The home adopts a low, horizontal profile, using raw materials that weather naturally.
The spatial layout unfolds as five distinct blocks—pooja, daily kitchen, social spaces, bedrooms, and recreation—linked through courtyards, walkways, and water elements. At the center lies a pool that anchors the volumes and becomes the social heart of the residence.
Materials like exposed cement plaster, Kota stone, cement-oxide walls, and ribbed beach-wood ceilings create a tactile, timeless palette. Passive cooling, deep overhangs, and layered landscaping allow the home to breathe with the farm, aging gracefully over time.
