Auburn Home

The Auburn Home is a 5,500-square-foot villa in Hyderabad that masterfully blends an earthy aesthetic with a modern design sensibility. The project, a collaboration between the designers and a highly engaged client, was born from a brief for an "earthy house". The name itself, "Auburn Home," reflects key design elements like the recessed glass courtyard, lava stone, and auburn (terracotta) accents. The design is grounded in the tactile experience of a seamless flow of natural stone flooring throughout the home. Structural modifications, including breaking down walls, created open-plan common areas that enhance natural light and cross-ventilation. The home features a mix of textures and materials, from an intricately stenciled concrete ceiling to a prominent brick wall in the dining area, which reinforces the home's warm, earthy tone. Curated artwork and traditional Rajasthani decor are balanced with contemporary elements to create a space that is both grounded and refined.
