Hombale Residence

Paying Homage to the clients' traditions, Hombale is a contemporary home built using traditional materials with unique techniques. Located in Banashankari, 6th Stage, the developing part of Bengaluru, this home is divided into a duplex penthouse for the clients and two apartments on the lower floors for rental. The house has stunning exteriors and cosy interiors. This project came about through the mutual effort put in by the architect and the client's son who happens to be a civil engineer. The use of thermally efficient materials like clay blocks makes the house cooler and eliminates the need for fans and ACs. Having its own light source through the Totti Mane (Courtyard), Hombale doesn't rely on the surroundings as the architectural language of South Bengaluru is still developing.
