Home by the Park

Home by the Park is a tranquil haven for a young family situated alongside a lush park in one of Bangalore's most prestigious neighborhoods, this residence offers a serene escape amidst nature. Originally constructed in 2002, this home underwent a meticulous transformation by Tall Storeys Collaborative, converting an old villa into a unique dwelling. The design focused on privacy and utilized an internal courtyard to connect common areas, adapting to the property's unconventional shape and layout. A significant moment during construction occurred when a sapling obstructing the foundation was relocated to the adjacent field, eventually growing into the majestic rain tree that now adorns the park flanking the home. A newly added covered terrace pays homage to the adjacent park, symbolizing the home's preservation efforts and enveloping it in a protective embrace. Seamless connection with nature, use of sentimental pieces in a modern context, and abundant natural light and ventilation are some of the key highlights of the project.
