About Project
Kaavu is a 7,200 sq. ft. sanctuary in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, where architecture bows to the rhythm of the earth. This residence reimagines the traditional Keralam sacred grove as a modern living space. The home’s soul is a preserved ancestral mango tree, around which the entire structure—delicately curving to include a stunning spiral staircase—delicately curves. From the nostalgic Padippura entrance to the sun-drenched Poomukham with its handmade Athangudi tiles, every corner is a dialogue between heritage and naked design. By stripping away artificial finishes and replacing solid walls with internal courtyards, this home breathes through greenery. More than a house; it is a meeting point for the soil, sky, and soul.
