About Project
Set within Tiruppur’s industrial landscape, this residence emerges as a quiet counterpoint to its surroundings. Designed on an 80x80 ft plot, the home balances contemporary expression with the climatic intelligence and cultural logic of vernacular Tamil architecture, interpreted through a restrained Mediterranean lens. A clear central spine organises the plan, guiding movement from public to private spaces with deliberate pauses along the way. Architectural elements such as arched columns, flying buttress-inspired projections, and a Padippura-inspired entry threshold reinterpret familiar forms without literal replication. Muted pastel tones, controlled openings, and a calm material palette allow light, shadow, and proportion to define the spatial experience. The result is a layered home that is rooted in memory, responsive to context, and quietly contemporary in its character.
