About Project
The Library House rises quietly within a dense Gurugram neighborhood, offering calm where space is scarce. Designed for a three-generation family, it embraces light, openness, and nature as its guiding principles. The home opens to the south for daylight, while a grove of mature trees along the west creates a soothing green buffer. At its center, a triple-height courtyard becomes the home’s luminous spine, drawing in air and warmth and grounding every space around it. The rooms unfold like connected chapters. The ground floor nurtures communal life, linking living, dining, and a serene prayer nook. The first floor balances privacy and openness for the parents and daughter, while the top level offers a treetop retreat for the son and daughter-in-law. Hovering above the courtyard, the cantilevered library acts as the home’s soul , a suspended space for reflection and shared learning. Crafted in stone, wood, and white plaster, the house feels timeless and tranquil. Passive cooling, shaded terraces, and cross-ventilation keep it naturally comfortable. In every gesture, The Library House becomes a gentle, breathing refuge that celebrates light, knowledge, and togetherness.
