About Project
Amidst a dense urban setting, the Shah Residence is thoughtfully planned around a mature existing tree, which shaped the layout and visual orientation of the house. Acting as a natural buffer from the street, the tree informs key design decisions, connecting the indoors with nature through framed views and filtered light. A striking brick jaali façade composed of staggered terracotta bricks defines the home’s crafted identity, bringing rhythm, texture, and ventilation. The same brick continues indoors, adding warmth and tactility to the double-height entry foyer. The plan unfolds linearly from a central foyer to living and dining areas, elevated for better light and airflow. Bedrooms are placed for privacy while open volumes and soft natural materials keep the spaces serene. The terrace, crowned with a pergola, becomes a contemplative retreat, completing this spatially balanced home.
