Designed on a compact 25’ x 49’ urban plot, Splitscape Residence in Coimbatore transforms spatial constraints into a dynamic split-level home. Designed for a family of four and their elderly parents, the house accommodates three-car parking, a ground-floor bedroom, and generous common spaces within a limited footprint. A triple-height living room forms the heart of the home, connected to courtyards and multiple levels that bring in light, air, and greenery. Responding to Coimbatore’s climate and the south-facing site, Corten steel jaalis filter harsh sunlight while allowing breeze into the interiors. Elevated skylights, side vents, and courtyards promote passive cooling through the stack effect, making climate responsiveness an integral part of the spatial design.
