About Project
The "House of Nature Retreat" is a beautiful courtyard home that seamlessly blends traditional principles with modern living. This home is crafted to offer a profound sense of a personal retreat, deeply connected to its natural surroundings. Central to its design philosophy is the Vastu compliance, which guided its east-facing orientation and the strategic integration of multiple courtyards, ensuring abundant natural light and a continuous flow of fresh air throughout. Every aspect of the house contributes to its unique character. The central "rain courtyard" is a focal point, not just for its aesthetic appeal with curvilinear seating and natural mounds, but also for its self-sustainable rainwater harvesting system, collecting 150,000 liters for landscape use. Other courtyards extend this connection to nature, with dedicated private spaces for the dining area and sons' bedrooms, each reflecting distinct design choices. From reclaimed Chettinad columns in the living areas to the thoughtful landscape with all-season blooming plants and organic fertilizers, the home shows a strong commitment to sustainable practices and a serene, immersive living experience. Vastu principles were not limitations but catalysts for an original design, setting this home apart from conventional approaches and fostering a deep sense of heritage and well-being.
