About Project
Amid Ahmedabad’s arid sprawl, where desertification creeps in from the Rann of Kutch and urban sprawl replaces green with grey, this home was built around 23 majestic Neem trees. On a 1000 sq.m plot in a busy housing society, this home reimagines the relationship between architecture and nature. Vastu-guided spaces for a multigenerational family, including pets, were carefully placed in harmony with the trees’ original positions. Brick casings protected the trunks during excavation, while pile foundations preserved delicate root systems. Open, airy spaces were aligned North-South, offering framed views of the lush community green beyond.
