About Project
Rebuilt on the footprint of a traditional home in coastal Karnataka, this 3,000 sq. ft. residence reimagines vernacular living through a tropical, climate-responsive lens. The design brings together regional craftsmanship with Sri Lankan spatial sensibilities, using local materials, passive strategies, and durable finishes suited to humid conditions. Familiar elements like carved timber details, red oxide seating, and shaded sit-outs are thoughtfully retained, allowing memory to guide the new narrative. The result is a home that balances sustainability with nostalgia, shaping spaces that feel rooted, breathable, and made for generational living.
