About Project
A contemporary response to the traditional dukan-makan typology, designed on a narrow 5m x 30m plot tucked between old Wada structures. Defined by its origami-inspired terracotta facade, the house uses angular slabs and walls to shield harsh southern sunlight while casting dramatic geometric shadows throughout the day. The design transforms constraints into opportunities through atriums, courtyards, split-levels, and inward-carved balconies that encourage natural light, cross ventilation, and thermal comfort. Blank neighboring walls become silent backdrops to the home’s sculpted form, while greenery and skylit spaces soften the linear volume. A porous planning approach creates a seamless transition between public, semi-public, and private spaces — balancing openness, privacy, and climate responsiveness. Every corner of the home is thoughtfully detailed to create uninterrupted spatial experiences, blending functionality with quiet architectural poetry.
