Barefoot Architects

We are a group of like-minded design enthusiasts who strive to choreograph spaces that are contextually sensitive and environmentally responsive. Barefoot Architects was founded by Basil Kalladi and Nithin Raj in the year of 2015. Our practice is majorly based in Kerala, and we believe in molding spaces that frame the tropical beauty of Kerala with respect to the traditional and cultural norms of the context. Bringing into consideration the current ecological state of the world, as architects it is our sole responsibility to stand by the sustainable norms and methodologies while crafting spaces. We also focus on building a deeper connection between the end users and the spaces they inhabit by choreographing natural light and ventilation, mapping circulation and connection with nature. Our design strategy also prioritizes simplicity and tropical minimalism that can altogether enhance the quality of living spaces and thereby uplift the communities.
