About Project
This home, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, is a masterclass in architectural introversion, designed as a sanctuary within a vast farmland. Fit within the context of peripheral mid-rise buildings, the residence deliberately turns its back on the outside world, focusing instead on a dense cluster of mature trees. The home is organized around a series of parallel walls on an East-West axis, clad in rough-textured Madurai Shiva Gold stone. These sharply tapered planes do more than provide privacy; they act as a canvas for the sun, creating a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow.
Inside, the experience is defined by layered volumes and open-to-sky courts that invite the elements into the floor plan. The material palette is grounded and tactile: black satin-finished granite flows throughout, while mirror-like water bodies reflect the chamfered stone and concrete surfaces. Rather than seeking vertical drama, the architecture encourages a horizontal gaze, tethering the inhabitant to the landscape through expansive verandahs and a quiet stillness.
